Dr. Katherine Queck, DVM, DAVDC, FAVD opened the doors of “The Carolinas Animal Hospital and Dental Clinic” in 1993. As a Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry at that time, she wanted to offer advanced dental procedures for her patients and provide dental training for her colleagues. She believed that together they could elevate the standard of veterinary dental care in the Carolinas.
From the time she opened her hospital, Dr. Queck regularly offered dental lectures and wet labs in her practice. In July of 2014, Dr. Queck opened the Veterinary Education Center of Excellence. Veterinarians and their staff receive instruction in veterinary dentistry and oral surgery, digital radiography techniques and interpretation, and small animal anesthesia. The quarterly recurring classes have a low instructor-student ratio, use the latest in veterinary dental equipment, and offer hands-on experience in the wet labs. Students leave the Veterinary Education Center able to perform new skills on their client’s pets the very next day.
In September 2016, she moved her specialty dental referral practice to a multi-specialty facility located in Matthews, NC. The Hospital for Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery is devoted solely to small animal dentistry. There are also satellite offices located in Mt. Pleasant, SC, and Columbia, SC
In 2018, Dr. Queck became a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College. With her continued advancement in the field of veterinary dentistry, she is committed to sharing her knowledge and experience with veterinarians and their staff in the Carolinas. Classes hosted by the VEC are held in each of Dr. Queck’s facilities to provide one on one instruction with exposure to veterinary dentistry in practice.
